Rice Krispie art in the kitchen tonight! The girls had a wonderful time working together. Cooking brings people together in beautiful ways. It also teaches skills that will be used for a lifetime. Cooking requires attention to detail, cooperation, measuring skills, science and much more. It helps instill confidence while encouraging responsibility. Cooking offers all of this plus the added bonus of shared smiles. Continue reading

Horizons4Girls works with referrals from middle and high schools throughout Sheboygan County, both public and private. Our students are often learning basic survival skills, working to complete high school, improving social skills; and setting and accomplishing goals they have set for themselves for school, home and their personal life. We surround our students with a circle of support they learn to trust, they explore the world around them, they develop skills they will use in life, experience successes and often discover their passion. Horizons4Girls mentors ~ inspiring the internal promise of each student as they fulfill their academic and personal goals. You could have almost called it sensory overload, but it was a hit! The LTC mobile classroom pulled into the parking lot at First Congregational Church and welcomed a dozen Horizons4Girls students. They got to first hand, experience computerized manufacturing, welding, and so much more. The experience opened up so many possibilities for non-traditional jobs they might consider - we know a spark or two may have been lit. Horizons4Girls once again was working to "Ignite the Spark" for these young women. Continue reading
